Nginx 1.9.9, HTTP/2, and LetsEncrypt!

Ok, got it all playing well together and actually not that hard once the proper versions are installed.

I struggled a bit, because I didn’t know you can grab the “mainline” Nginx from repo. I maxed out at 1.9.5 but not a version that supported HTTP/2. Once I figured out the mainline thing, I got 1.9.9 and boom. So here are the repo lines:

deb http://nginx.org/packages/mainline/debian/ jessie nginx
deb-src http://nginx.org/packages/mainline/debian/ jessie nginx

And inside the server{} directive for my vhosts:

listen 443 ssl http2;
ssl_certificate    /etc/letsencrypt/live/www.nerdifymylife.com/fullchain.pem;
ssl_certificate_key /etc/letsencrypt/live/www.nerdifymylife.com/privkey.pem;
